Breath Coaching.

Breathwork one to one.

Just as our nervous system automatically and unconsciously influences our breathing, conscious breathing can in turn influence our nervous system!

And therefore how we think and feel every day.

Breathing: The Key to Stress Management

My aim with Breath Coaching is to raise your awareness of your breathing patterns, help you to deal better with stress and strengthen the connection to your body and your heart.

Been there from the start: Breathing is our first instinct. With our first breath, we take in oxygen and stay alive. The CO2 content in the body rises sharply for the first time, and the initial "benchmark" is set for how our system deals with stress.

CO2 Tolerance = Stress Tolerance: Everyone masters various challenges in life that affect our CO2 tolerance. The smaller this tolerance, the faster our body becomes stressed and emotions come to the fore – a completely natural process.

Actively tackle stress: With Breathwork we can generate stress in the nervous system in a controlled manner and practise dealing with it. Similar to firefighters with dry runs.

Your path to more resilience: Everyone has their own way of dealing with stress. In individual sessions, we explore your individual reactions and discover valuable resources together for your stress reduction.

Breathing patterns & Health.

Your breathing pattern can tell us two important things:

  • How you're feeling right now, in this very moment.

  • Unprocessed, stressful experiences, emotions, and traumas stored in your body.

As a breathwork coach, I find this fascinating because your breathing allows us to see if your system is still holding onto energy from the past. If you have unprocessed experiences (and let's be honest, if you don't, you're an exception in our society), this can trigger an ongoing stress response in your body, which affects your breathing. So, the past still influences your body and your breathing. With incomplete stress cycles, breathing muscles often remain tense. If we don't complete these cycles naturally, they continue in the background and can lead to unhealthy breathing patterns, a dysregulated nervous system, and various other health problems like anxiety, panic attacks, and sleep disorders.

Examples of unhealthy breathing patterns.

Unfortunately, a large portion of the population in our Western society breathes incorrectly due to stress. The following patterns are reactions to anxieties and stress in the body, typically stemming from unprocessed developmental, birth, or shock traumas.

Perhaps one or two of these sound familiar?

  • Stress reaction when focusing on your own breathing

  • Frequent sighing and yawning

  • Breathlessness at rest

  • Hyperventilation (too much air turnover)

  • Shallow chest breathing

  • Tense diaphragm

  • Rapid breathing

  • Reverse breathing

In Breath Coaching , I want to raise your awareness of your breathing patterns and accompany you gracefully and non-judgementally on your breathing path so that your nervous system can experience a sense of security. This will gradually increase your stress tolerance and you will be able to draw on new resources in future stressful situations.
